The Foundation was established in 2022 on the initiative of its President, Alessandra Borghese. The creation of the Foundation was inspired by The Ghenie Chapels project, which saw site-specific works by Adrian Ghenie permanently installed in the Chiesa della Madonna della Mazza in Palermo…
These works of art were donated and permanently installed under the curation of Alessandra Borghese and thanks to the work of the Director of the Cultural Heritage Department of the Archdiocese of Palermo, Father Giuseppe Bucaro.
Adrian Ghenie is one of the most celebrated contemporary artists of his generation. His works are featured in the largest collections of contemporary art in the world, including the Centre Pompidou, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and the Pinault Collection.
